Publication on the design of jury and funding procedures

The DIS-TANZEN dance-support programme was a funding programme designed to support the entire dance scene during the pandemic. Thousands of applications were submitted to the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland during the programme's term. The selection was made by a jury composed for this purpose, which was to cover the various areas of the dance scene. The jury members spent many days reading applications and many hours discussing them in meetings. Over the course of the meetings, access and options for submitting applications were expanded (for example: form for graduates, form for accessible applications, more counselling, video, etc.). All participants tried to constantly scrutinise and reflect on their own work and include other perspectives. The idea arose to write a paper on the process of jury and funding work that had developed over the course of the DIS-TANZ-SOLO programme. The result is an online publication that presents the ideas and processes developed over the last three years and can be used as a source of inspiration for new jury and funding procedures in the future.

We would like to thank the authors of the paper and look forward to further dialogue on this topic!
