With the DIS-TANZ-START support programme, the German Dance Association (Dachverband Tanz Deutschland) enables young dancers to join the professional dance scene in Germany after their education. The aim is to give as many young professionals as possible their first engagement with dance companies in German public theatres as well as with established companies in the independent German dance scene. In addition, further training and exchange events are offered. Requirements include a residence in Germany and the completion of a state-recognised training as a dancer (generally not before 2019). Exceptions are possible.
